These are all gnome libs that ARE INSTALLED here, and I ONLY installed
Dapper as server and did "aptitude update; aptitude upgrade; uptitude
install xubuntu-desktop", nothing more.
I saw something too a while ago but not on a recent dapper install.
Although if you installed with aptitude that brings in packages which are
not only depended on, but also those Recommended. That may be a cause.

Do you know if Thunar can put icons on desktop too?
enable them in settings->desktop settings->behavior , icon settings
I think we should have this configured by default.
