Thanks! That was it.
After installing those, it works (though the installation had to be done
manually, but that is clearly beta feature in ubuntu and nothign to do
with xubuntu)
Well I think it should have been installed automatically if you chose Finnish
in the install from the CD. If not then it's a bug.
This should be the case for most languages actually, since quite many translations
fit on the CD and more will be added until release.
