Yes, in Gnome it occurs too.

ok. Then it's a problem with your  sound settings or driver, you'll have to file a bug in LP
against ALSA I think unless you get help here or in the forums.

mpg321 is installed, but mpg123-esd doesn't exist:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo aptitude search mpg123-esd
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

It's in multiverse. But it's ok it means you use the non-esd sound card.
