It is 128M for the liveCD, 64M for the alternate CD install.
An installed system can run on 64M but not acceptably so 128 there as well.
We should have recommended minimum since ti will work with less too.
As for harddrive space - 1.5 Gb for xubuntu ( seems <1.3G on an
installed system but let's play it safe I am not sure if during
install it does not use more)
+ swapspace
