The idea and concept of a council has been brought up, but it was discussed
and decided that we would need a larger community in which the council to
oversee because in our current state we would basically have everyone who
shows up to the meetings regularly and/or those who regularly help the
xubuntu community sitting in a council position. This just didn't seem to be
a good use of human resources.

On the concept of a planet.xubuntu.org ... i wouldn't at all be opposed to
this but I don't think Kubuntu has their own planet, I believe everyone just
posts on planet.ubuntu.com and Cody has started posting there in order to
raise Xubuntu awareness around "the planet". We might need to check into the
politics behind hosting our own "planet" and make sure we aren't stepping on
anyone toes by hosting our own.

Just my two cents .... :)

So I noticed at the last IRC meeting that we were looking at various
ways to get people involved in developing Xubuntu. I know the people
at the BugSquad have bug diaries [1] about their work flow. Similarly,
the MOTU team has Recipes about making packages. Perhaps instead of
just writing in our blogs, we could keep something similar on wiki
pages. Also, has anyone given thought to a planet.xubuntu.org or a
Xubuntu CC (which would fall under the Ubuntu CC) and be structured
similar to Edubuntu and Kubuntu CC (which would have the power to
grant membership). I think the last idea is a few release cycles off,
just a thought. Let me know what you think.
