Jim,
I will be more than willing to help you with the website development.
Feel free to ask me to do what we need.
Which tool/language are we planning to use for this project ?
Regards.

Hey Vincent:
I misplaced that info you supplied on the mini Xubuntu download that you
had up. Can you resend that so I can test it and put it up online so we can
get that out to the masses some more?
Thank You
Terry

Hi Everyone,
Just a few notes.
- Your deductions about his (Freddy's) access is correct.
- Sadly, I didn't remember setting up his account at first but if I do
remember correctly now, I did make it known that I was doing it.
- I updated the e-mail address to be [email protected]
- IIRC, Jonathon no longer has shell access and his access on the
website is synomous to Adam's and Vincent's (ie. Administrator role).
- Administrators can not create or manage user accounts.
- Non-administrators (ie. Freddy) can edit only their own pages
(currently).
- Non-administrators (ie. Freddy) can only create new url aliases.
Once I get my feet on the ground again, I'd be very much interested in
getting some serious development done on the website (content and
functionality wise). If I remember correctly, Adam agreed to have the new
website template ready for the next release of Xubuntu. With the migration
to the new template, we might also consider migrating to the new, very
impressive Drupal 5.
Thanks,
Cody A.W. Somerville

Drupal has built-in support for i18n. The easiest solution (but most
likely
not the best) would simply to allow users to register/create accounts
and the user can select their language of choice in their profile
settings.
This is (obvious) drawbacks and isn't necessarily the solution I would
recommend. Something like xfce.org has would be much better IMHO and I
don't
believe it would be overly difficult to implement.
Thanks,

Terry,
The XubuntUSB [1] image atm is available in two forms: a torrent [2] and
from a server from an Ubuntuforums member at [3]. There are complaints
about
that server being terribly slow, so another would still be appreciated ;-)
I could upload it somewhere using FTP, but the timing now is not the best
as
I'll be going on holiday tomorrow and won't have the time to do it
today...
So that would be in at least five weeks :(

I would be willing to work on the new website, but I still don't know
where
to get ahold of the code. I can't entirely promise how fast development
will
happen mainly because my CSS is somewhat noobish and my time schedule is
really packed:
Fall Semester Line-up:
-12 hours of class
- teaching 8 hours of freshman level computer science courses for 2 of my
profs (which will require another 8 hours outside of class for lesson
plans
and grading)
- Working 25 hours at my part time systems admin job for my campus library
So i am looking at 53 hours of each week spent on campus, and then I have
to
find time to do homework, projects, and study for exams outside of that
time.
I can promise to do my best, but I will require a substantial amount of
help
to have a new website up and running by the Gutsy release.
