Well, Gnome applications also use the Gimp Toolkit (GTK). Some are just made with mainly Gnome in mind, so they contain Gnome in their name. The difference between Xubuntu and Ubuntu is Xfce, which already is a huge difference to me. Furthermore, we also still differ in application selection, take e.g. the inclusion of Abiword which I greatly prefer over OpenOffice.org Writer because of its speed and better GTK integration. And we might include Epiphany over Firefox if it uses WebKit, that would also fit into Xubuntu's philosophy because it's faster, and it, too, has better GTK integration. On the other hand, both Abiword and Epiphany and Gnumeric are written with Gnome in mind, as opposed to OpenOffice and Firefox. So what's the problem with including GTK apps that contain "Gnome" in their name? -- Vincent
