Sorry, if this is outdated, but I have some notes about 10.04. I have installed both ubuntu-desktop and xubuntu-desktop. If I launch an Xubuntu session, both gnome-screensaver and xscreensaver are running, and both xfce4-power-manager and gnome-power-manager are running.
