Also from my side a few words of appreciation. I was so frustrated with Windows on my netbook and was about to toss the whole thing, but at the same time did not want to spend money on something better either. I looked around, tried a few things and now use Xubuntu 11.04 which fast, relatively easy to figure out even though I had no idea how to even spell Linux until recently, and using it is so much fun! All the while I was able to do something for the environment by not dumping my netbook for something else, I don't need to support a company anymore that wasted hours and hours of my time with the low quality of its product and I don't need to give money anymore to someone who has too much of it already anyway. Once I have sufficiently familiarized myself with Xubuntu I will definitely consider ways of supporting the project. A huge thanks to all those involved and keep up the excellent work!! - --- On Sat, 6/8/11, Yassen Damyanov <[email protected]> wrote: From: Yassen Damyanov <[email protected]> Subject: [xubuntu-users] Xubuntu is fascinating! To: [email protected] Date: Saturday, 6 August, 2011, 13:24 Hello, Xubuntu users and contributors, Just dropping by to express my appreciation. I am a Linux/Unix sysadmin since 1998 and a Linux Desktop user since 2002 (Yeah, up to 2002 my desktop was W2K ...) Past 2002 I've tried a lot of distros to run my desktop machine with, but never kept any one longer than several months, disappointed by bugs and inconsistent behaviour. Yeah, I am quite pretentious. Thought about moving to MacOS ... when suddenly last year I found Xubuntu! (Yeah, I do know Ubuntu and Kubuntu very well, but not Xubuntu until recently.) And guys, my current Xubu 11.04 workstation really makes me scream out of joy! The look & feel is ... fascinating! Speed and functionality is exactly what I've always looked for!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I really have no words. I'll say only that I am literally in love with the Bluebird theme and all Desktop Linux machines in my company that run Linux (some 15 of them) already run Xubuntu :) Please, those involved, keep up the GREAT work! God bless you. Yassen P.S. Is there something like a page suggesting possible ways to contribute to the project? Charlie said: And yet another very happy user. Many thanks to everyone involved making Xubuntu great! You are doing a fantastic job of getting things done in spite of the challenges. - -- Charlie Kravetz Linux Registered User Number 425914 [http://counter.li.org/] Never let anyone steal your DREAM.
