We shoudl definitively kill hal completely now, it's long overdue and definitively is broken in saucy now. thunar-vfs is one of the few remaining reverse dependencies, with "squeeze" being the only user of thunar-vfs left. Everything else in XFCE got apparently ported to gvfs. In #xubuntu-devel I just got told that squeeze is rather crashy too, and that there's a pending rewrite upstream at some point. Would anyone mind if I kill squeeze and thunar-vfs from saucy, and we reintroduce squeeze if/once there's a gvfs rewrite? I filed https://launchpad.net/bugs/1221254 about tracking the remaining bits. I'd appreciate if you could give some statement there about removing squeeze. Thanks!
