I'm not really familiar with Diaspora, but you're welcome to follow this path. Since our team handling the official social media is very small[0] we haven't actively sought to create more social media accounts/pages ourselves. Please let us know once it's up and running so we can have a look :) To adopt one of these outlets as an official one we like to see a good chuck of activity with trustworthy admins, and eventually have someone from the marketing team added so we have some control over it in case the original admin disappears (which has happened before!).
