Not so fast, if you still need Windows. Have you check this out yet?
Ther is another solution: Install "Virtualbox" and you can set up a
virtual Windows machine.

VirtualBox does not work for me : tomtom Gps synchronization and external western digital firmware updates.

In both cases the crap (but mandatory) software used does some stranges things with the usb, ending in USB released to Linux and crash of the microsoft program.
