Sorry to add a completely useless reply,
but I have to admire the prospect of maybe accepting self immolation as
an alternative to using MS Windows.
I hope Adam that you are not forced into that corner, and further hope
you find the same peaceful resolution of your computational ambitions
with your chosen device.
Cheers, Rob

Hello,
I'd like to ask you, If you have any experience running Xubuntu (or
any linux) on this device or something similar
http://shop.lenovo.com/sk/sk/tablets/ideapad/miix-series/miix-300-10-inch/index.html#tab-technické_špecifikácie

I'd like to buy It. But I'm using now 7 year linux. It would be better
to kill myself than using Windows :D
Do you have any idea about running linux at Atom processors or if all
drivers are working. If tis possible to install linux at this device
of course.
Thanks a lot.
Have a wonderfull day :)
