Ah, powerpc, interesting! I don't think the powerpc architecture is officially supported by ubuntu by now. It is still is by debian, though.

A search on packages.ubuntu.com turns up a browser-plugin-freshplayer-pepperflash package in has support for powerpc. So try install that and see if it works for you.

I'm not sure how to get Ubuntu to tell me specifically what version it is.

You can try 'lsb_release -a' in a terminal.
