Install file-manager of choice then:

All Settings -> Preferred Applications -> Utilities

Drop down menu for file-manager should have the available options. I know you can do a custom build for the skel directory but it's been too long since I have done so to offer any sane advice. A quick search should yield some decent how-to's if memory serves.
