the power manager and (although I don't use it) Light Locker seem
quite adequate to me.
I can think of a number of reasons. It's simple, and offers lots of
varying patterns which are very nice and eyecatching for kiosks.
In fact, I'd like to completely dump lightlocker AND LightDM *completely*
in favor of XDM and Xscreensaver.
