Could you provide any evidence for this claim? I'm using a SSD myself, without changing my work-flow. For what I'm doing I can't use suspend and hibernation, however, if I could use it, I would use it. Why should it damage a SSD? The most grotesque claims I read about anything that hast got to do with SSDs are about read/write cycles. "Don't read and especially don't write, it will shorten the lifespan of your SSD!" Actually I'm using read and writeable media to read and write data.
