Hello, friend :) Thanks a bunch for your reply. After a week trying to make it work, I took all of my rage and spent about 5 hours trying and I made it, somehow.
Had to reinstall it, though, and fix some stuff via GRUB menus. (that was the most interesting part haha) It's a new territory for me, so it wasn't easy. I'm fully operational now, finally. This is beautiful, I could not recall the last time I had a fast computer to do my stuff. cheers *Thiago da Rosa* 2018-04-23 18:04 GMT-03:00 Peter Flynn <pe...@silmaril.ie>: > On 22/04/18 23:22, Thiago Cantanhêde da Rosa wrote: > > hello guys and gals > > this is my first time trying ubuntu and xubuntu seemed like the best > > choice for my old machine > > Xubuntu certainly; regular Ubuntu has an interface that is too big and > hungry for older machines. > > > I'm stuck at installation > > Have you used a bootable USB or DVD to run [X]Ubuntu standalone first, > to check it out? > > > [failed] "starting Light Display Manager" message keeps coming and going > > Can you explain "coming and going"?
