In all previous versions of Xubuntu, whenever I locked the screen of my
laptop, I simply had to use the touchpad to bring me back to the login
screen.
On Xubuntu 18.10, when I try to unlock it, nothing is shown on the
screen. If I press Ctrl+Alt+F1 I get a console, and back to X with
Ctrl+Alt+F7 I see a black screen with the picture of a padlock with the
message (translated to English): "This session is blocked. You will be
redirected to the login screen automatically in a few seconds."
What has changed? How could I bring back the old behaviour?
