Checked my desktop and saw:
$ ll
-rw------- 1 user user 140648 Dec 6 12:09 .xsession-errors
-rw------- 1 user user 9601533 Dec 2 10:32 .xsession-errors.old
A look inside the files shows many similar errors as noted above.
I am also getting every second the following errors:
$ journalctl -n

The file /var/log/syslog is expanding rapidly.
The syslog and xsession errors are unrelated it appears.
