I am a bit puzzeld by the expression "less secure".

Does it mean it is kinda known that gmail carries away any metadata and content while Thunderbird doesn't?

Good afternoon

In google's view, virtually any app that anybody else developed is less secure. I thought tbird had achieved 'secure' status as I can log in using 2 factor authentication in tbird, but need specially produced (by google) passwords to log in via other email clients.

By the bye, where did you see the reference to 'less secure'? I can't see it in the OP.

I'm also wondering if the OP is receiving mail - oh yea, web mail, of course.
