Good day, I use Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS on a Lenovo Ideapad 330 IGM WiFi has the habit of dropping intermittently. Rfkill list all shows: 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 1: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 2: ideapad_bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 3: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no
Have followed recommendations found on Ubuntu forums. No conclusive fix. Ideapad equipped with Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 kernel ath10k_pci In one of the recommendations found the kernel version updated to last available. In Settings IPv6 disabled. IPv4 Automatic DNS Automatic On 8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4 When WiFi disconnects I open Terminal and type: "sudo service system-manager restart" sometimes helps reconnect. nmcli r wifi on does not make difference. When "restart" as mentioned above does not reconnect; I get out of Firefox and GoogleMail; reboot and start again. This is not too burdensome. Irritating when it happens during videoconferencing--frequent nowadays--you drop out for the time it takes to get back into the conference. I have not started on the configuration of the TEW-652BRP router yet. Once I do; what is the recommended setting for the router? Appreciate input.
