Hi John,
The subject you are talking about is whether or not the 32-bit version
will be supported over time.
I checked quickly this morning and found 2 pieces of information on this
subject :
https://www.numetopia.fr/retour-du-support-du-32-bits-dans-ubuntu/
https://ubuntu.com/blog/statement-on-32-bit-i386-packages-for-ubuntu-19-10-and-20-04-lts
In fact, some support will continue to be provided, but partially, not
all packages will be supported over time, as the majority of computers
sold in the last 10 years have been 64-bit architecture and the current
stock is also 64-bit.
A good tip is to migrate to a 64-bit computer.
I hope I have answered your question.
Have a nice day.

I rcvd 2 updates from ubuntu in the last day or two with the below
message:
SORRY, THERE ARE NO MORE UPGRADES FOR THIS SYSTEM
There will not be any further Ubuntu releases for this system's
architecture.
Updates for Ubuntu, 18.04 will continue until 2023-04-26.
If you reinstall Ubuntu from ubuntu.com/download, future upgrades will
be available.
Since I an running 18.04, on a 32 bit system, I am confused. Can
someone explain?
John
