Applications > Settings > Xfce Terminal has an option to set the working
directory.

This option does not seem to work in xubuntu 20.4.1 or xubuntu 20.4.2,
although there seem to be subtle differences between the two. (E.g., in
20.4.2, the settings take place immediately, without having to log out.)

Note also that "xfce4-terminal --default-working-directory=/my/directory"
does work.

This question seems to come up a lot on the net, but the various work
arounds are not suitable for me. For example, one work-around is to modify
your ~/.bashrc file. This is not suitable because i don't want to change
the behavior of bash everywhere, but only in "Open Terminal Here".

Thanks in advance for any clues.
