I tried.
To execute commands it is better to log in with the native ssh command.
I couldn't execute remote commands with Gigolo.
Gigolo works very well to explore the server, this yes.

I've only used Gigolo for file operations, opening a file in
LibreOffice, or playing a piece of music, that kind of thing. If you
want to run a program, I suppose that you might need to "Open a
terminal here". I've never had a reason to run a program remotely, so
I don't know.
