Dear Peter,
I used few ones in the past (free of charge), GanttProject is the best
and not too complicated.
Now, you might have to pay a little contribution or go further in the
download process.
It is a multiplatforms software and good enough. The limitation is that
you only plan at the scale of one day not one hour (as I remember),
check if it is a limitation for you.
Have a good work,
Sincerely,
Yvan

I'm having a bathroom stripped out and refitted. I'd like to maintain
the state of play in some kind of personal (open source) project
management software capable of generating a Gantt chart and
highlighting overlaps and conflicts.
All the apps I look at are gigantic, aimed at corporate users, and
gross overkill for tiny little projects like this. They offer all
kinds of features like multi-user, integration with blogs and MS
Project, allocation of resources between multiple providers, etc,
which are obviously useful in big projects, but tend to get in the way
of personal ones.
Does anyone have any recommendations for something to run on Ubuntu?
Peter
