features of your printer will be supported and that the options
offered to you do not all necessarily apply to your printer."

That's the trouble. A generic printer driver is exactly that. I got
the 24 pin one to work but does not allow for whether it is a wide
carriage or narrow carriage model. One of my test printer pages print
to wide carriage. CUPS have done a revamp and cut out many printers
they used to support. The LX-350 does not work on the 9 pin. CUPS used
to list the LQ-300 and LX-300 - iirc all Epson printers which they
have now cut. Pleased to say that i saved a ppd from years back and
done a search on my spare hard drive and found it.

NO - printers do not work on wine. Wine is for running windows
software and any printing has to be done to an internal pdf which can
then be printed out back on Xubuntu. Trouble is wine doesn't seem to
work on Xubuntu 24.04.
