  Great idea. It looks like building a simple blog/RSS
reader in XUL is a popular case study. For example,
here's a line-up:

  * Macromedia MXML/Flex @
http://www.markme.com/cc/archives/003901.cfm

  * Microsoft XAML @
http://www.joemarini.com/tutorials/tutorialpages/xamlblogexplorer.php

  * Thinlet, SwixML @ http://tools.masukomi.org (see
Caterpillar project)

  * Luxor @ http://sourceforge.net/projects/lopica
(see jnlp-browser project; it's a blog reader, sort
of)

  If there's any interest I suggest kicking off a XUL
Grand Coding Challenge 2004 to build a simple app
using your XUL toolkit of choice.

  One idea is to build a simple counter example app.
See
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/luxor-xul/python/src/counter/chrome/startup/counter.xul?view=markup

  Another idea is to build a simple calculator example
app. See
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/luxor-xul/python/src/calc/chrome/startup/calculator.xul?view=markup

  Let me know what you think and if you're interested
in contributing an example app using your XUL toolkit
of choice.
