Hello, Mozilla, Opera & Apple have launched a new by-invitation-only W3C alternative that excludes Microsoft and that is chartered to create new backward compatible web standards that let you build web applications using HTML, CSS, DOM and Javascript.
The new spokesperson of the the Web Hypertext Application Technology (WHAT) Working Group (WG) is - surprise, suprise, - Ian Hickson. Ian Hickson known for relentlessy attacking the RICHIE (Rich Internet for Everyone) initiative and demanding a shutdown writes in a comment over at MozillaZine: Amusingly enough, the WHATWG list, in its few hours of existence, has done more for interop than the xul-talk list has done in its entire existence. Now, why would this be so? Anyway, I welcome the new WHAT WG initiative. Find out more @ http://whatwg.org Let us know what you think about the new WHAT WG initiative. Please post your comments to xul-talk (just change the mailaddress from xul-announce to xul-talk. Thanks). - Gerald ------------------- Gerald Bauer Open XUL Alliance - A Rich Internet For Everyone | http://xul.sourceforge.net XUL News Wire | http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.xul.announce ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the new InstallShield X. >From Windows to Linux, servers to mobile, InstallShield X is the one installation-authoring solution that does it all.
