Hello, If you happen to be in Toronto, Canada on July 24th I invite you to my free one-hour "The Future of the Web: Rich Clients, Rich Browsers, Rich Portals" talk upcoming at the next J2EE Users Group meeting.
The official talk summary states: A new gold rush is underway fulled by the web services revolution that demands rich clients that go beyond HTML 4.0/XHML 1.0 avoiding excessive server-roundtrips, offering offline-usage, supporting drag and drop, rich graphics and widget sets and much more. Gerald will survey the state of Java offerings such as Thinlet, SwiXml, Luxor, Vexi and others that let you build rich clients using markup languages today and will give you a no-fluff, fast-paced, example-packed XUL (XML UI Language) tour and dispell some XUL myths (XUL needs Javascript or Mozilla; XUL is an arachic XForms predecessor) on the way. Gerald will close with detailing the upcoming rich client offerings from industry giants such as Microsoft, IBM, BEA, Adobe, Macromedia and Sun and outlining what the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is up to. More @ http://www.j2u.org/meetings.jsp and http://www.j2u.org/detail1.jsp See you there. - Gerald -------------------------------------- Intersted in hiring Gerald Bauer? Yes, I'm available.
