Hello,

David J. Orme - the XSWT dev lead writes in a
posting to the xswt mailinglist:

I had a conversation today with Gili Mendel, the
technical lead for the Eclipse Visual Editor Project
about integrating XSWT GUI building into Eclipse
Visual Editor. It's too early to say, but indications
were promising that we will do this in the near future
(ie: starting at EclipseCon or so).

VE currently offers a split-pane editor. The top pane
is the graphical representation and the bottom is the
Java source code.

Gili proposed to put the Java source code editor in a
tab folder along with the XSWT text editor:

+--------------------------+

     graphical layout

+--------------------------+
| xswt |_java______________|

     tabbed folder
     w/ text editors
+--------------------------+

You can edit your GUI in any of these places: in
XSWT, in Java, or in graphics--and changes will
instantly be reflected in all others.

So you can edit your GUI in XSWT because that's more
convenient, but use the Java code to execute it for
performance.

The Java tab will be optional so you can also edit
just the XSWT and embed the XSWT engine like most of
us do now if you prefer.

Would anyone here be interested/available to help?

Regards,

Dave Orme
