Hello,

The slides for Koen Roevens talk covering the Thinlet XML UI language toolkit for the BeJUG Rich User Interface in Java workshop are now online.

  Summary:

Nowadays it is common practice to choose a web user interface for enterprise applications. A thin client certainly eases the distrubution and administration. However, in comparison with a rich client it means a setback of the user experience. During the presentation we'll challenge Thinlet to see if it can be a best of both worlds solution and if it is yet ready for real world applications

  Speaker Bio:

Koen Roevens is an engineer (Ms) using Java/J2EE fulltime since 2000. He developed, designed, architected several web-applications for his employer Ardatis. Hereby using several web-frameworks. Struts since 2001, Tapestry and Java Server Faces since begin 2004. Continuously on the lookout for more productive ways to create web GUI's but being reluctant to sacrifice on maintainability, Koen started investigating Thinlet. It resulted in the open source ThinCLet project. ThinCLet is an add-on for Thinlet which enables you to create componentized Thinlet applications, hence improving the maintainability.
