Allow me to repost the XUL News Wire story titled
"Poll: Is XML UI Language Trademarkable?" so you won't
get left behind if you're not subscribed to
xul-announce but to xul-talk only.
Note, that you're also more than welcome to comment
on the poll here on xul-talk. Please do NOT post your
comments to xul-announce. (You're, however, as always
welcome to post your own XUL News Wire stories to
xul-announce.)
Here we go:
A recent MozillaZine post about the XUL Alliance
inflamed the endless debate about who owns the term
XML UI Language and the three letter acronym (TLA)
XUL. Mozilla or the English Speaking World.
To find out what's your opinion I've put together
a poll that asks:
Do you support Mozilla's claim that XML UI Language
(XUL) is a trademark like Google or Amazon and not a
generic term like RAD, IDE, GUI, DOM or IDL?

[ ] No
[ ] Don't care. Whatever.
[ ] Don't know. I'm not a Lawyer. IMNAL (TM).
I've also put together a control poll that asks:
Do you want to shutdown the XUL Alliance and the
XUL News Wire?
