Hello,

allow me to highlight the blog stories by Jon Lipsky
- XEsoft's co-founder and chief technical architect -
titled "XMLFace 1.4 Released" and "WebStartable
version of my Confluence Client".

In "XMLFace 1.4 Released" Jon writes:

We released version 1.4 of XMLFace today, which
includes a few new tags, support a few new controls,
numerous bug fixes and 5 new example applications.

This version also includes my entries into the XUL
Grand Coding Challenge 2004. The challege defines two
applications that should be built (a calculator and a
counter) to highlight how to use the different XML UI
toolkits to achieve the same goal. The challenge also
defines a "freestyle" category where the developer can
choose to create another application to showcase their
XML UI toolkit. The suggestion is to create a RSS
reader, however since that has been done so many times
over, I decided to do something different. I create a
client for Confluence which allows you to use most
functionality of defined in their XML-RPC API, such as
creating spaces and pages, editing pages, viewing
previews and executing searches.

In "WebStartable version of my Confluence Client"
Jon writes:

I have posted a WebStartable version of my XMLFace
based Confluence Client for anyone who wants to give
it a try. I have also posted some screenshots in case
you would rather just see what it looks like. Here are
two thumbnails, which you can click on to see the
larger images ...

Since XMLFace supports working with SWT or Swing, I
have I have actually posted two different WebStartable
versions of the client, one that will use Swing, and
another that will use SWT. However, the SWT version
can only be launched from Windows or Linux, as those
are the only two versions of the SWT libraries that
include with the webstart archive. Currently, the SWT
version won't run on MacOS X anyway since the browser
control is not yet implemented in the Mac version of
SWT.
