Yes, we are active and alive!

A lot of progress has been made on both Ibex and Vexi.

The two projects will definitely _not_ be merging in the foreseeable
future. However, there is an increased synergy between Ibex and Vexi
lately and it is starting to pay dividends. Vexi is re-using a lot of
the Ibex progress and there are some exciting developments to come in
the very near future.

Ibex is to be regarded as a more experimental playground for related
projects developed by several long term developers. Vexi is an attempt
to gather the progress made with Ibex and build on top of it a stable
platform for developing and publishing web applications in a cross-
browser, multi-OS* environment outside of the constraints of (X)HTML and
browsers. As a collection of developers [from both projects], we share
the common belief that web applications should not be constrained by the
restrictions typically placed upon them by Today's technology, and can
be as effective as standard desktop applications without compromising
security.

* At the moment this is achieved using Java, however Ibex/Vexi use a
unique architecture oriented around creating native builds from Java
source using GCJ and it's only a matter of time before there are native
versions of Vexi for at least Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X, enabling it
to run out-of-the-box in the most popular browser/OS environments.

Those interested should follow the Vexi core list:
  http://lists.vexi.org

There are now at least 3 companies using Vexi in a professional
environment, and hopefully that list will start to grow rapidly as more
progress is made with Vexi [and Ibex] and more features are added.

Announcements will be made in the coming weeks as core technology
progress and demonstration applications will be unleashed.
