Nope, that's the right kernel driver for devices that don't have their
own created, it's just telling you that it's using generic VGA routines
for drawing the kernel text console.

You'll need to look at /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see what user-space driver
module the Xorg server is loading - it should be "radeon" or "radeonhd"
if the card is supported by one of those drivers (they support slightly
different subsets of the recent ATI cards).
