That is an option, but one gets used to a certain syntax :-) and if
you are cross developing for Linux it's nice to use the same debugger
on both platforms.

Thanks! pkgchk reports no errors so I think it's a real bug. I tried it
with gdb 6.0, gdb 6.3.5 and gdb 6.8. This is a regression from around
snv80 or so, certainly since Solaris 9, so I submitted a bug report
http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=8490. I hope it is
in the correct category. The gdb folks don't seem too enthused about
fixing it...
