I have one amd64 box with nvidia GeForce 6150 hardware and an old Iiyama AU4831D flat pannel (1600x1200 native resolution). For some reason the nvidia driver is unable to auto-detect the panel's native resolution from the monitor's EDID data and starts at 1024x768. Gnome desktop resolution switcher offers no modes above 1024x768.
