I tried that, but it somehow did not work correctly. I cannot do it under X, and so I have to go single user. Ok, that's fine, but even when I chroot into /a it gave me an error message. In the end I used xorgconfig in order to get an xorg.conf for a start. I then changed rhe resolution in that file, and that's working. Funny thing is: nv is working (it supports 1680x1050), nvidia is only supporting 1280x1024. Huh? Since when is the nv driver "better" than the original one from nVidia???
