The XFree86 Project has done some work on it, and Martin Bochnig has
been working on it as well lately (see his MarTuX announcements in
xwin-discuss and opensol-announce).
No one at Sun is going to be working on porting support for those older
cards though unfortunately - we've only been able to get the SPARC
graphics group to agree to port drivers to Xorg for cards still being
sold today - which due to the European RoHS restrictions, is now pretty
much down to the XVR-100 & XVR-2500. We're also working with the Sun
Ray team to port their drivers to Xorg.
