Jerry, The Sun UltraSPARC IV+ and SPARC64 VII processors are viable options. We used the UltraSPARC III/IV+ processors as part of a game console development platform for many years - as well as application development on US-III workstations. The reality of the things is gathering the statistics of the 'NEEDED DEMAND' for the SPARC workstations moreso than the 'WANTED DEMANDS' for them. The US-T2 is not designed for everyday 'generic' purposes, moreso for specific highly threaded apps or special purpose projects.
