Hello, does it mean I don't need to work on enhancing the x86/x64 DRI/DRM support to include some of the more recent chipsets? Then this saves me time, because I have an Interview as Java-Developer on Tuesday.
BTW, as info for those who are not on fox-notify: I have re-schuffled the fox-gate pkgdefs to cover SPARC in a better and more complete manner (and can soon release new binary distro-packages for SPARC and x86/x64: http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/fox-notify/2008-October/date.html#615 # ith at sun.com # [fox-notify] Slight major cosmetic cleanup of all pkgdefs: bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Changing all remaining SUNW_PRODNAME="Solaris X11" to SUNW_PRODNAME="OpenSolaris X11" in pkgdefs. bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Replacing "sparcv9" with "$plat_64" in all pkgdefs. Next step may be to merge prototype_i386, prototype_sparc and prototype_com bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Replacing all the rest of MACH specific subdirs with generic $plat (for 32) or $plat_64 (for 64). bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Make SUNWxorg-mesa package platform-clean by splitting prototype file into bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Putting COPYING notices into proper places for packages bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Making SUNWxscreensaver-hacks-gl package ISA-generic. bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Clone almsot everything inside SUNWxorg-server on SPARC, except for bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Syncing / unifying all servers on SPARC (with x86). bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] # On x86 you might not need the bin/Xorg wrapper, so have it only on SPARC bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Update SUNWxorg-graphics-ddx to cover SPARC. bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] The /usr/X11/bin/Xorg wrapper script would not harm on x86, but it would of course bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Clean up Xorg wrapper script (currently SPARC-only). bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] More xserver/xorg SPARC patches (incl. wrapper) related fixes. bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Enable xdm-auth-1 for the servers, as discussed on the list. bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] As it doesn't currently make any sense to ship wsfb_drv.so, there is bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de # [fox-notify] Clean up way to get the right (32-bit vs. 64-bit) AsVIS option bochnig at pool.math.tu-berlin.de Now after some sleep (and a complete re-build) I had to find, that a few packages do not build successfully. It must primarily come, because of the !search directives in the prototype files (If I recall correctly, you can only have a unique one for each subdir, per prototype file, something like that). So I must fix this now. I also clean up the app/mrxvt, app/icewm, lib/freeglut and lib/openmotif subdir's Makefiles. Plus I may add a few further tny tools and patch xdm (for nice background and info commands running transparently visible in background), but that's it for the old gate. But beyond this you can start to move the SPARC stuff upstream, if you like. Yes, also xkb data files. However, for the 1.3 gate you have most of the important things, only maintenance is to come. -- %martin On 10/26/08, Alan Coopersmith <Alan.Coopersmith at sun.com> wrote: > Ken Mays wrote: >> Alan mentioned the new libDRM and Radeon HD 1.2.3 was in the gate.
