I found a problem, somewhat serious.

When I have a few windows open and compile OpenSolaris I am using most
of my
memory (3 GB) and a bit of the swap; loading the dual-core above 90%.

The problem is that I get "Window Title Bar" corruption, nowhere else
on the screen
is affected and there seems to be nothing crashing but it looks quite
disconcerting.

If I choose the corrupted window the title bar will restore itself and
appear normal
without any crashes. It is though "write-only" memory were being
written to, and
since it is never read, it never has any effect on anything (except
visual appearance).

Something is writing to were it is not supposed to be able to. Needless
to say that
a malicious program could alter the title bar (instead of writing
random data) and
mislead you as to the title of the window. I would not be fooled by
that but it is indicative
of a serious security flaw. This type of activity should not be
possible.

I am enclosing two screenshots:

1. Screenshot_1_OK.png -- A normal screenshot without corruption
2. Screenshot_2_BAD.png -- A corrupted title bar (pointed to with a big
red arrow).

Thanks,
Rob

Sorry, I misread the calendar. If no one finds a problem with the
changes I made to the VERSION=177.80,REV=2008.11.05.10.16
I pushed out last week it will go into b103.
