I am running Solaris 10 on an Sun/Ultra 45. We are in the process of upgrading
our display card from an XVR-100 to an XVR-2500. When we use the XVR-100, the
default colormap uses 256 cells with 8 bit depth. When we use the XVR-2500,
the default colormap uses 255 cells also with 8 bit depth. In both cases we
are using PseudoColor. The program we are using calls XAllocColorCells which
returns correctly on the XVR-100, but not on the XVR-2500. Is there a way to
change the default colormap to use all 256 cells? I know next to nothing about
X and have inherited this code which has worked fine in HP-UX and Solaris until
now.
