Why not?   (I haven't tried adding it, so I don't know this bug).

Making Indiana work with input methods is a known problem we're working
on with the i18n teams.    You can see some of the progress at:

SXCE contains a lot of commerically licensed fonts we can't include in Indiana.
The G11n teams are busy evaluating replacements for all the locales.

The initial prototype was known to be not usable in CJK locales, and I thought
that was supposed to be documented on the web site before you downloaded it.

For Indiana, my highest priority items are about fixing the X packaging
and making the X11 libraries binary compatible with Solaris (they are not
right now, since they are mainly the current X11R7 versions without any
of the previous Solaris modifications).
