You can create an xorg.conf and put it in /etc/X11/xorg.conf to change
parameters.   When none is present, Xorg autoconfigures itself based on
the hardware it finds.   The default configuration is reported in the
/var/log/Xorg.0.log or you can stop the desktop (say by running svcadm
disable gdm) and then login as root and run /usr/X11/bin/Xorg -configure
to generate an xorg.conf.new that you can edit and move into place.
