Hi, last October I spent a few hours to clean up the SUNWxorg-fonts/prototype.
To include !search $HOME/X11/lib/X11/fonts/foo directives for each and every 
small subdir.
Maybe this could save you some time? Not sure. I have attached the definitions:

Actually I wanted to commit and push this to the fox-gate.
But if you have better plans ... ?
