The X ChangeLogs and source release on opensolaris.org have been updated for Nevada build 78. While this is the first code drop since build 67 in June, changes in the interim have been available in the Project FOX Mercurial repository on src.opensolaris.org. Changes will continue to appear there first, as long as they don't conflict with the ongoing merges of the Martux, Belenix, and Indiana changes.
Notable changes since the last drop (build 67): - Xorg server 1.3, with Xrandr 1.2 support - Xvnc & vncviewer based on RealVNC, using the Xorg server sources thanks to Fedora's patches to integrate the two - libXcursor & xcursorgen added - Driver updates: nv 2.1.6, intel 2.1.1, savage 2.1.3 - Library updates: libXft 2.1.12, libXdamage 1.1.1, libXrandr 1.2.1 - app updates: xrandr 1.2.2, xvinfo 1.0.2 - Additional bits converted to X11R7 modules: bdftopcf, constype - DejaVu fonts added (based on Bitstream Vera with characters added for many more locales) - Xorg TrueType font engine changed from encumbered libbitstream.so to open source libfreetype.so - open-sourced several of the X SMF manifests and man pages - Multiple fixes to allow building with Studio 12 (see note below) The fixes to the configure scripts broken by Studio 12 have all been integrated into this release. While Studio 12 builds seem to work on x86, there's still a SPARC compiler error we need to investigate, and then testing to make sure they work, so we are not yet ready to declare Studio 12 supported for building this code, but you can certainly try it for your own builds and let us know how it goes.
