Intel graphics supports MC and FFT etc for video acceleration. you can
configure intel driver in xorg.conf, and enable Xvmc. And then, enable
mplayer to use video hardware acceleration. I remember that mplayer
has such an option somewhere, it is disabled by default. Probably, VLC
has the same feature.
