Hi Alan, congrats to you and the X11 group! It builds fine on SPARC plus is super-fast now. On a Blade 2000 with 6GB mem, Dual 1.05GHz USIII+, and on a 36GB FCAL disk running SXCE snv_125 plus latest Studio 12+patches and complete CBE plus everything in $PATH and $LD_LIBRARY_PATH I get the following, which is quite impressive: Thu Oct 29 18:08:57 MET 2009 Finished building the X Window System Consolidation for OpenSolaris. Finish time: Thu Oct 29 18:08:57 MET 2009 Runtime: 2:20 mkdir: packages/common_files: [File exists] Building packages for X11 version 6.9.0.5.11 build 0 Removing old proto-packages and recreating Copying package descriptions cat: cannot open /export/home/anon/project/proto-sun4-svr4/licenses/lib/mesa/COPYING: No such file or directory ---Building packages result log is in /export/home/anon/project/proto-packages/logs/package_build Packages built: 51 Packages failed: 9 Just 02:20 hrs! That's due to your dmake hacks. Plus: Once again the Blade 1000/2000 platform can prove, how much horsepower it has (in comparision even to the newer IIIi based platforms). Because it used the *real* USIII/USIII+ chips (inside the modules), which are 100% pin-compatibe even to IV and IV+ . That's why I prefer the Blade 1000/2000 over 1500 or 2500. Now back to merging in the odd stuff plus performing a few new experiements ... Stay tuned ... %mab
